ProcedurePause is a context-aware procedural cognitive aid being developed for the procedural environments clinicians already work in. A small battery-powered camera and microphone observe the room and use ambient visual, audio, and workflow cues to understand approximately where a procedure is in its workflow.

For each supported procedure, clinicians define a small number of meaningful checkpoints — typically one to three. When ProcedurePause recognizes that one of those moments is approaching, it delivers a brief predefined prompt through a nearby tablet or voice interface. The clinician can acknowledge it, defer it, dismiss it, or keep working.

ProcedurePause does not tell clinicians how to perform procedures. It helps them remember the important things they already know.
